Swadesi Way’s Khuneji Dates
Swadesi Way’s Khuneji Dates come from the sandy fields of Pokharan, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. These Khuneji dates come from date palms that are over 10 years old and are part of a local effort to revive traditional date farming in Rajasthan’s desert region.
The Khuneji dates are known for its rich caramel sweetness, soft, chewy texture, and subtle hints of earthy undertones that come from the desert’s unique climate.
Farm to Plate Journey
Khuneji Dates are grown using traditional methods by Prem Singh Ji, a farmer from Pokharan, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.
Naturally ripened on the tree, the dates are hand-harvested during June-July, then slowly sun-dried for 1-2 months to gently bring down the moisture. Finally, they are carefully cleaned, sorted and stored by Banyan Roots – with no chemicals, no forced drying, just wholesome, natural desert sweetness.
